I took my dispensary journey out of Salem and to my old stomping ground Healing Green MMD in Independence,OR Polk County. Heading west on HWY 22 past West Salem and Rockin Rogers then south on Independence HWY just after the Chevron station you will run into the City of Independence. One the original pioneer settlements hugging the Willamette River the city has transformed into hot spot for festivals, restaurants, and even a ghost walk though some of the historic buildings throughout downtown, but I came here for another new hot spot. Polk County’s one and only dispensary is the place to be if you an OMMP patient.

Healing Green is definitely the hub for medical marijuana patients, growers, and activists. Michael and Katherine Heyct run the show around there with the help from a few dedicated volunteers. Upon entering the establishment your welcome to a comfortable, cozy purple waiting room decorated with some pictures of classic rock heroes. Through a barred window patients register with their card and odl. Only takes a few minutes but worth the effort because the staff takes detailed notes for all patients. This lets the dispensary know patients needs, likes, dislikes, and other updates.

Behind the doors a large glass displays filled with everything a patient needs leading you to the rear where the bud tiers and register are. Along with a large variety of flowers from $7-12 g they also have BHO, Oils, Hash, Concentrates, Vape Reloads, Pens, Pipes, Water Pipes, and all kinds of accessories.

One on the volunteers, Jenn, is the in house baker. She provides Healing Green with delicious medible treats and she is always expanding her menu. Healing Green is also always expanding their inventory. They cater to the needs of patients and have formed a positive OMMP community in the Polk County area.
